About APTC
Asian Pacific Topic Conference (APTC) is a monothematic scientific conference focusing crucial topics related to digestive diseases since 2010. Organized by the Asian Pacific Association of Gastroenterology (APAGE) and the Japanese Society of Gastroenterology (JSGE), APTC is held annually in one of the APAGE member countries, with Japan serving as the host every other year. The aims of APTC is to promote education and research in the hope of bringing about progress of gastroenterology and development of better medical care for digestive diseases in the Asia-Pacific region. It brings together leading scientists and researchers engaged in advanced care and research on the selected topic from across the region for exchange of knowledge and information, dissemination of knowledge in the respective countries of the region, and development of young scientists and researchers.

This year, APTC will be hosted by the Gastroenterological Society of Taiwan (GEST) and will be held on September 28 and 29, 2019 in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, under the theme of “Screening and Eradication of Helicobacter pylori for Gastric Cancer Prevention-Unresolved Problems”. We will highlight the updated disease burden of H. pylori associated diseases, new treatment modalities and strategies, results of clinical trials on tmass eradication of H. pylori for gastric cancer prevention, and several other unresolved problems including the surveillance programs, the changes in gut microbiota, antibiotic resistance, and risk of extra-GI diseases after H. pylori eradication in this topic conference. A large panel of experts from within and outside the Asia-Pacific region will share their experience and present their best in this congress. It will offer a remarkable atmosphere for discussing groundbreaking research and progress in the field of digestive medicine.
